“But when fall comes, kicking summer out … it stays awhile like an old friend that you have missed. It settles in the way an old friend will settle into your favorite chair and take out his pipe and light it and then fill the afternoon with stories of places he has been and things he has done since last he saw you.”
― Stephen King, Salem’s Lot
Round these parts (somewhere in Middle America, as the song goes), fall doesn’t stay anywhere near as long as summer or winter. Oh to have my roots in a more temperate clime!

Lyn, I’ve lived in every part of the US and where I am now has the very longest fall imaginable. I am so appreciative of that as it is my favorite season. Not too hot, not too cold, not to sunny, not too cloudy. Everyday is a glorious gift. Only took me 60 years to find it! Here is to you squeezing out a few more fall like days this year!
