“What is the meaning of life? That was all-a simple question; one that tended to close in on one with years, the great revelation had never come. The great revelation perhaps never did come. Instead, there were little daily miracles, illuminations, matches struck unexpectedly in the dark; here was one.”

― Virginia Woolf, To the Lighthouse

  1. Love the wild variations on blue in the water for this one. All the way from electric to ultramarine. The prettiest sunrise I ever saw, over Lake Michigan, featured those variations, in motion of course. Great image.

    1. Dear Lyn, as always its so nice to hear from you. Thanks so much for the note! I too am often amazed at how much green and blue you can find in a sunset – which is most frequently painted or photographed emphasizing the red, orange and yellow – Cheers! Douglas

  2. Forty-two, of course, is the answer to life, the universe and everything. But the meaning of life is truly a lot of little things that ad up to a simple fact — we live. Love the lighthouse.
